SENSE MEMORY collides the past, present, and the future by combining experiences from the worlds of sight, sound, and taste. Brooklyn-based photographer James Reddington will debut photographs from his in progress Memory Project; chef Jeff Creager will transform your personal memories into unique culinary dishes, and local musicians will conjure the past by performing cover tunes of songs from the collective memory.

We’re looking forward to seeing many of you at tomorrow’s dtpE # 2 – This is Your Brain on Art at 8:00 PM at 3rd Ward!
Dr. Ed Vessel, NYU Research Scientist and cognitive neuroscientist, has just jumped on board for our neuroaesthetics panel, joining the previously announced Noah Hutton and Dr. M.A. Greenstein.
Dr. Edward Vessel is a cognitive neuroscientist who received his Ph.D. from the University of Southern California and is currently a Research Scientist at the New York University Center for Brain Imaging. His lab conducts research on the neural basis of aesthetic experience and visual preferences using behavioral, psychophysiological, and imaging techniques for measuring preferences, aesthetic responses and information seeking.

dtpE – The Deconstructive Theatre Project EXPERIENCE – opens up conceptual and formal elements of the company’s annual production, providing participants with opportunities to engage with the creative process in collaborative ways. Events are designed to immerse participants in the artistic life cycle of the work by regularly bringing community members together with company artists and partner organizations in social and creative ventures. dtpE events include interdisciplinary performances, film screenings, interactive lectures, visual art exhibitions, dramatic and poetry readings, ensemble theatre workshops, social dinners, cocktail gatherings, and volunteer activities.
